We drove as a support vehicle in 2023 and plan to take our dune buggy this year. Had a GREAT time!

I didn't do the actual ride down the dragon with them. I did however meet them in robbinsville SC with my food truck. We had an amazing time serving the group. Everyone was super great and fun to hang out with. I recommend if you haven't rode with them definitely do so.

We have come on Buggin the Dragon three times and it is just an annual event for us now. Fabulous people putting it together, beautiful scenery, interesting vehicles, and making some good friends along the way has us recommending this to others more and more each year! For ourselves, we turn this into a long weekend get away (or more!). The area is rich in things to do and see within reasonable drive times, so make a trip of it! Each year has only gotten better!

My 1st buggin. Not my last. Was well organized. Met many new, and old, friends. Kudos to AJ, JEN, RO, MATT for a wonderful weekend. If you are thinking about coming, bring that air cooled, water pumper, diesel, or any VW and drive the dragon with us!!

My first time for Bugging The Dragon. On the way to Townsend from Chattanooga I had an issue. My right rear spindle worked its way out and caused my tire to rub on the fender. Knox Bugz (Terry and his crew) saved me and popped in a salvaged spindle and got me rolling. This allowed me to meet a great group from the East Tennessee Air Cooled group (A.J.) and those who drove in from a farther distance; including the lovely couple(Tim and Barb) from Volkswagen Ranch in Missouri. I had a great time. I can't wait for the next run!!

Bugging the Dragon 2022 was a special event for me. This was my the first event Iโ€™ve ever brought my bug to, but it will likely remain my favorite of all time. Everyone in the group was super friendly, uplifting, and helpful. No rude comments, no aura of superiority. Just fun people, enjoying some fun cars. Come join us, you wont regret it. And if your car breaks down, youโ€™ll get back home ๐Ÿ˜

This is my second time doing this event. In the many events I have been to with other groups I must say this is the most organized, fun event ever. I felt totally safe that if anything went wrong with my car I would have expert help with it. I felt secure with staying on the route and not missing any turns. The support crew is the best. This club really works together to make this event fun, friendly, and most important safe. Do this event. You will be glad you did!

We had a good time talking to VW enthusiasts like us and looking at some awesome cars. AJ and crew make it a fun event and we know they put in a lot of time and effort to insure that all drivers stay safe and enjoy the ride. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year.

Awesome event, third time I've been and will be back as long as it's being held! I know it's for air cooled, but I'd love to see a water cooled group come push it too!

Yesterday was our first adventure on โ€œbuggin the dragonโ€. We had an absolute amazing time! Everyone was extremely welcoming and made us feel like we belonged with the group! Canโ€™t wait to catch more events and especially return next year! Stay safe everyone!

I want to commend the setup and execution of everything, but I wished we'd would have have good contact info and the route either in text or printed form,(approx times, miles, turns, and so on) when we all left from the visitor center and I was traveling up the foothills parkway, I developed an oil leak. One of the chase (modern) VW's stopped with me, but had no tools, parts and so on. Which wasn't a big deal for me, but it took me 20 or 30 minutes to fix my leak. By the time I got to the dragon and through it, no one was around. Drove to fontana, no one was there, drove 20, no one. I had a good time, but wished I had contact info, map, directions and so on. Hope to do it again next year.

I went to my first Bugginโ€™ the Dragon in 2019. I had an absolute blast driving my โ€˜71 Super from Nashville to The Tail. The group are very friendly and welcoming. Wide variety of ages and VW styles.

It's the most fun I've had in a car since I was 16! If you haven't been to the dragon, make your first run in a bug! So stoked for this next run!

2021 was my first Buggin the Dragon. I didnโ€™t think my Vanagon Westy would be ideal for the event so I drove my old Porsche Boxster. I was wrongโ€”there were plenty of VW Buses and there were slow, moderate and spirited run groups so something to fit everybody. A very welcoming group of people both young and old and I saw a fun time had by all. Even breakdown guys in case you needed help. Hope to see you guys in 2022!
